In an increasingly digital world, video games are taking their place as sources of immersive myth and story for players.  In this interactive salon, participants will engage in dynamic discussions regarding the archetypal and symbolic power of video games.

A selection of popular massively-multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs), including Final Fantasy XIV, Ultima Online, World of Warcraft and The Legend of Zelda, will be used to discuss the ways video games may facilitate important developmental milestones and encourage players to engage in projective or symbolic play.

Case examples will be shared and discussed. Participants will be encouraged to draw upon their personal, therapeutic and Jungian knowledge throughout the discussion.
